Koh Lipe is in the south-western part of Thailand, in the heart of Tarutao National Marine Park, just at the border with Malaysia. Lipe is the southernmost island of Thailand’s Andaman Sea, located about 60 kilometres from the mainland. Easily accessible by boat from Pak Bara Pier (Thailand), Phuket (Thailand) or from Langkawi (Malaysia). Tarutao National Marine Park is composed of 50 islands. Lipe is the only one of them offering accommodation and facilities for tourists. 2 ranger stations on Rawi and Adang are equipped with campsites for tourists but no other facilities. Koh Lipe is small and flat. You can easily walk to any of the three main beaches. There’s a vibrant and fun Walking Street. Lipe offers all the conveniences a traveller desires.

Less than 10 minutes walk from Chareena Hill – Beach Resort, this is Lipe’s main street. Along the Walking Street, you can find many different shops, travel agencies, pharmacies, dive centres, minimarts, restaurants, coffee shops, internet cafés and much more …

Long tail boats are Thai traditional wooden boats. You can rent a taxi boat to go to the nearby islands and discover the Tarutao National Marine Park.

Taxi bikes are available all around Lipe. We can call a bike for you if you need. Just inform our reception.

There are no motorbike rentals on Koh Lipe but you can rent bicycles to discover the island.

There are a few ATMs along the Walking Street. They accept all the major credit cards and debit cards as well. There is a small transaction surcharge when you get cash on the island.

Credit cards are accepted at Chareena Hill – Beach Resort. There is a 3% transaction fee. Most of the shops and restaurants of the island do not accept credit card payments. Some do and charge up to 8% transaction fee.

Koh Lipe offers 2 7-Eleven convenience stores which are located near the front and back of walking street, both having ATM machines for cash withdrawal.

A small local health centre is located next to the school, on Sunrise Beach. There is a doctor who speaks English and a nurse. In case of emergency, the doctor and the nurse can organise a transfer to the mainland by speedboat. Speedboats are available for emergency 24/7. There is a bigger heath centre/clinic with international standards in the walking street. There are many well-stocked pharmacies as well.

Both Immigration office and Police station are located on the eastern end of Pattaya Beach, on the beach, next to Bundhaya Resort.
