Koh Lipe, HOW TO GET THERE?
Koh Lipe is a small island 60km. offshore in the Andaman sea in Tarutao National Marine Park. There are many different boat routes to reach Koh Lipe.
Lipe is part of Tarutao National Park and therefore, when you arrive on the island, you will be asked to pay a National Park entrance fee. The price is 200 baht per person.
Keep the receipt as it is valid for the full-length of your stay. You need to show this receipt when you go on a snorkeling trip to the nearby islands. If you can’t provide it, you will be asked to pay it again.
Koh Lipe can be reached from many destinations in the South of Thailand, but also from Bangkok and Malaysia
From Bangkok
From Don Muang Domestic Airport, fly with Nokair, Airasia or ThaiSmile Airways to Hat Yai or Trang. From Suvarnabhumi International Airport, fly with ThaiSmile Airways to Hat Yai. You can also take a train or a bus to Hat Yai.
From Kuala Lumpur

From Hat Yai to Pak Bara Pier
It’s a 1h30 to 2h00 drive between Hat Yai and Pak Bara Pier. We can book a private taxi, a private van or a seat on a shared minivan for you. Both taxi and van can pick you up at the airport, at your hotel or at the bus station. The van is a cheap option it runs 4 times per day. Taxi is available 24/7. From Pak Bara Pier to Koh Lipe
The boat ride takes 1h15 – 1h45 when the trip is direct but the boat sometimes stops on the way in Tarutao or Koh Khai and can take much longer to reach Lipe. Speedboat from Pak Bara to Lipe offers 4 rides a day : 9.30 am / 11.30 am / 1.30 pm / 3.30 pm Speedboat from Lipe to Pak Bara : 9.00 am / 11.00 am / 1.00pm / 4.00 pm Speedboat routes are open all year round. Between May 16 and and Oct 14, there are only 3 boats per day. Please contact us by email for the detailed schedule.
From Phuket, Koh Lanta, Koh Phi Phi to Koh Lipe
There is a ferryboat line from Phuket all the way down to Lipe during High Season. It takes 8 hours for the full trip. It is also possible to take a speed boat from Phuket to Lanta and then an other speed boat from Lanta to Lipe. Speedboat routes from/to Phuket are open between October and May. From Langkawi (Malaysia) to Koh Lipe
There are daily speed boats from Langkawi to Koh Lipe. The ride takes 1 hour. Speedboat routes from/to Langkawi are open between October and May. The line is currently closed due to the covid travel restrictions.
From Koh Lanta to Koh Lipe
There is daily speedboat from Lanta to Koh Lipe. The ride takes 3 hours. From Lanta to Lipe : 10.30 am From Lipe to Lanta : 9.00 am Speedboat routes from/to Lanta are open between October and May.
